Directed by the Chief of Naval Operations to be the NCOIC for the Naval support detachment for Operation Just Cause. I established, powered and furnished tweleve 20 x 30 sheds for personnel ranging from the Coast Guard, Navy and SPEC-OPS in advance of the operation starting. I supervised 6 personnel for the maintaining of aircraft support equipment used to service Naval and other military aircraft. I provided coordination, logistics and airsupport for SEAL Teams, Special Boat Units, DEA and other Federal agancies prior to, during and after the operation. After my deployment I recieved my Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Coast Guard Commendation medal with Operational Device and received a Letter of Commendation from the Chief of Naval Operations himself.
I served as a Security Forces member for over 14 years. The AF has been good to me and I couldn't think of how I could give something back until a good friend told me about his MTI experience. I must say, this is one of the best experiences I have had in my military career. It will be a sad day when it's time to leave the world's greatest Air Force.
I counted it an honor to serve my country in the USAF. I was release from active duty after serving only six months into my second enlistment to attend full-time college. I graduated with a BA degree in 1977 and I am presently the Pastor of the Gethsemane Baptist Church in Conyers, GA. gethsemanebaptist.net Thank you to everyone who is or has served in our country's armed forces!
