The Air Force Art program was established in 1950 to preserve prosperity for the "Air Force story" and "the military way of life through the medium of art." What began as an inheritance of 800 paintings from the United States Army that chronicled the early Army Air Corps days, has grown to a collection of nearly 8000 works of art accomplished by several hundred artists over the last 100 years of Air Force history.

USAFE currently holds about 340 paintings on loan from the Air Force Art Program. The collection covers several time frames in Air Force history and are showcased throughout several USAFE bases.

The USAFE Enlisted Heritage Committee has selected several distinct examples of art for your viewing.
